iSLC 2014

The Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center is hosting the seventh annual inter-Science of Learning Conference (iSLC) in Pittsburgh at Carnegie Mellon University on March 6-March 8 . All Science of Learning Center Fellows and Trainees are invited to apply. We have 15 positions available for each center; if selected to attend, PSLC will pay for your flight, lodging, and meals. You will be expected to arrive on March 6 and leave on March 8.

For those of you unfamiliar with the iSLC Conference, it is a great opportunity to meet other trainees (graduate students and post-docs) studying in the other NSF-funded science of learning centers. All participants are invited to present a poster, and many will have the opportunity to give talks on their research. There will also be several workshops, which are proposed and organized by trainees as well.

This year we have a pre-conference workshop on designing educational museum exhibits at the Pittsburgh Children's Museum. A small group of conference participants will spend a day working with the museum's design team and research staff to create prototype exhibits. Participants and museum staff will hold a panel discussion on the experience at the end of the conference.

The deadline for application is soon: December 20th.

In order to apply, please send me your name, advisor's name, institution, whether you would like to present a poster or talk, and if you are interested in the museum workshop.
